Jiawen Li is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and the Institute of Photonics and Advanced Sensing at Adelaide University. She is also a Fellow of National Heart Foundation and NHMRC. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2010, and her PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of California Irvine in 2015. She has secured >$14 million competitive research funding as a chief investigator. She has also won numerous prestigious awards and honours, including MIT Technology Review Global Innovator (35 under 35), Sony Women in Technology Award with Nature, Young Tall Poppy Science Award, Superstar of STEM, etc. Her research focuses on biomedical imaging, fibre-optic sensing, and 3D-printed devices.
