Brendan Dyett is currently a Research Fellow at RMIT supported by an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Award. His research interests involve applying microscopy and scattering based techniques to investigate nano/microscale dynamics at interfaces. He received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Melbourne, Australia, investigating the surface and mechanical properties of non-wetting thin films. He subsequently undertook a postdoctoral position in the Soft Matter and Interface research group led by Xuehua Zhang, investigating the dynamics and assembly of surface nanobubbles and nanodroplets. Following this, he carried out postdoctoral work under Charlotte Conn and Calum Drummond within the Molecular Assembly Laboratory at RMIT University, examining the mode of interaction of lipid nanoparticles with cellular membranes. Currently, he continues to work towards developing mechanistic understanding of lipid nanoparticle-cell interactions and strategies to overcome biological barriers.
