Dr. Sujeewa De Silva is currenlty a lecturer in the school of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MaPS). Sujeewa’s current research explores the applications of precious metals, their alloys, and compounds in plasmonics and broader nanotechnology fields.
Sujeewa investigates how the dielectric function of these materials governs localized surface plasmon resonances and surface optical responses. By tailoring the dielectric properties, her research aims to finely control light–matter interactions, enabling the design of tunable and efficient plasmonic systems for diverse technological applications.
Sujeewa pursued her PhD studies at the University of Wollongong, under the supervision of Prof. Shi X. Dou. Her PhD research was on “Investigating and improving the properties of graphene doped magnesium diboride superconductors”. She has published a book based on her PhD study area in addition to her research publications in reputed journals.
